This
has such an incredible story to it. I used to get the Sunday Mail
delivered but one morning I got the Sunday Post by mistake. I
don't particularly like the Post as I always saw it as an old
person's paper. Anyway, I started reading it and while looking
at the letters page I came across the letter below and a black
& white version of this picture. I was stunned. Here was a
girl that I had not seen for 20 years and who was my first girlfriend
at college (lasted 4 long days !!). Talk about fate. There was
a contact number for her brother

who still lived in Eastriggs (South Scotland beside the Solway
Firth) so I phoned him up, explained who I was and my connections
with Sharon and told him that I could restore the photo. That
day I got a phone call from Sharon in Germany and after talking
about the old times she said that she would e-mail the photo .
It was very hard work and it is not 100% perfect especially across
Sharon's eyes but that area was so badly damaged it was difficult
to get it looking realistic. I met Sharon and her husband Wilfried
a couple of months later in Edinburgh where I presented her with
the framed print (that is why the image is oval). She was a bit
emotional but she loved it and it hangs up in The Braveheart Inn
(their little pub) in Germany. We have kept in touch and through
Sharon I got in touch with another long lost friend. However,
I still don't get the Sunday Post.
