Family wedding

This was a most difficult commission. The client wanted it printed A3 size which meant that I had to get it printed at a commercial print house. Normally most of my work is printed on my own Epson Sylus at home and I have full control on the output. With this one, however, I found out the hard way what a difference there is when you have to get something printed CMYK. Suddenly all the colours were different to what was on my screen (also a A4 print from my Epson) to what came out from the print house. Luckily the firm were very helpful and I got a print which was very good although I had to change some of the tones in the TIFF file. These are the things you learn as you progress.

I wanted to make the picture look as if it could actually happen (in a fairy-tale kind of way) in that the close-ups would appear on large "live by satellite" type screens linked by wedding rings etc. Two of the photos were black & white which were tinted to match the rest of the image. Hard work but satisfying.
